Feel Happy on and off your mat :)

Hi friend, 

Recently I went home to Michigan to visit my family for the fourth of July.  I gave myself and my family the gift of shutting down my phone and dropping into a week of naps, eating, drinking and all the beautiful things you should do on a proper vacation with your loved ones.  AHHHHHH BBQ potato chips!!!!  Yep, I ate them!!!

Usually on my vacations I still try to stay on course with my daily morning meditation practice followed by 30-60 minutes of yoga in dads living room. #sorrynotsorry.  But this year I decided to just let myself be. "Just Be", no routines or rituals to follow.  I found that even though I wasn't following my normal routine, my practice is so ingrained in my body that I craved some form of stillness then movement.  I would wake up and go to the front porch with my coffee and just stare at the water for a while.  Then I felt like I needed to move a bit and stretch my muscles so I simply found my way to floor for some feel good stretches. 

Meditation and Yoga are incredibly powerful practices that can improve the quality of our precious lives on this planet!  Your practice may look very different then my practice and thats perfectly OK :)  Know that just simply closing your computer and staring out the window is a form of meditation and laying on the floor is technically a yoga pose, Savasana.
